Our Story

Lifepointe Church of God has an amazing story of Gods blessings.

Our roots go back to 1959 when a new church was born, called Alberta City Church of God, beginning in a tent on 23rd Street E in Alberta City. The church then built a facility in 1960 off Crescent Ridge Rd in Holt and retained the name Alberta Church of God. Over the years, our church has been abundantly blessed. Many new faces and ministries have been started within our community and internationally.

On April 27, 2011 an EF-4 tornado destroyed our church building. Despite all the destruction, God continues to bless our church. Our attendance has more than doubled since the tornado despite not having our own facility. Since the tornado, we have held our worship services in a number of places. We shared a facility with the Woodhaven Church of the Nazarene on University Blvd for a year. In November 2012, we began having services at Davis Emerson Middle School (DEMS) until mid January 2014, when our new church building was completed. Our church family is very grateful to have great community support that has aided us in our journey through this tragedy.

We are pleased to announce the completion of our new church building off Exit 79 I20-59. Even under difficult circumstances, our church continues to fulfill our motto: Loving God, Serving Others, and Reaching the World. Above all, we value the Spirit of unity in all we do.
God knows what He is doing. There is NOTHING accidental in the lives of His children. He does not work without a pattern or design. The thread of purpose is woven through every event and circumstance of our lives. How do we develop our wings of commitment and trust?
The formula is: Isaiah 40:31 They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.
